Ordering:

Most orders arrive in 1-2 weeks, transit time depending on the shipping location. You will receive an emailed order confirmation from Modern Office with an estimated shipping time. Please note that shipping times are estimates, not guarantees. Please notify us prior to placing your order if you need the following:

* If you must have the furniture before/after/by a certain date.

* If you need rush shipping.

* If you require inside delivery, before/after hours delivery or have other special delivery requests.

Modern Office is not responsible for missed delivery dates that were not communicated to us.

You can place your order on our secure online store, or by calling us at 1-800-443-5117 to place your order by phone. Reps are available 8:30-5, Central Time, Monday-Friday.

Minnesota customers subject to sales tax.

Payment:

Modern Office accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover as well as PayPal. We accept purchase orders with Net 30 day terms from government institutions as well as schools and colleges and other credit-worthy commercial businesses. Modern Office does reserve the right to set the credit terms. We may require a credit card or a deposit to process an order.

Credit card orders with a shipping address different from the billing address are subject to verification and approval.

Colors/Color Samples:

Colors shown on the Internet can vary from monitor to monitor. Just like when you look at paint samples in a store, there are hundreds of shades of each color in existence, including grays, whites, reds, blues, etc. so please contact us if color is a particular concern. Many times, we have material samples in house and we would be happy to send them to you at no charge. Most color samples are received in 2 working days! If you do not like the color of the furniture that you have received, please see our return policy below.

UPS/FedEx Ground Shipping:

All items shown in our online store include free shipping in the 48 contiguous U.S. states.

Many of our products, such as office chairs, are small enough to be able to ship with FedEx Ground. Most of these orders ship out immediately from our Eden Prairie, Minnesota warehouse. Please note that:

* The estimated delivery dates listed on Ground shipments are estimates, not guarantees. Delays can happen due to weather, driver shortages etc. These are outside the control of Modern Office.

* We are unable to expedite ground packages that are already in transit

* We are unable to request that the delivery driver call ahead. Drivers are prohibited from making phone calls while driving.

* We are unable to control where UPS, FedEx, etc. deliver packages or shipments within your building, so unless you have made specific prior arrangements, delivery to your suite is not included or guaranteed.

* If you are not there to receive your package(s), it is up to the driver to decide to leave without a signature, or, to attempt again on the following business day.

Truck Shipments:

Some of our larger items such as our desks, conference tables, lounge seating, roll top desks and cubicles are too large to ship with UPS/FedEx. These items are shipped palletized by freight service. These items are identified as 'Truck Shipments' in the product description. We use a variety of different freight companies to transport furniture across the country.

Things to know about Truck Shipment deliveries:

* Locations must be accessible to a full size semi-truck. Please contact us if you think this may be an issue.

* Freight companies include just one driver for deliveries. The driver is not required to transport freight off their trucks and into buildings or homes. Please contact us if you require inside delivery, before/after hours delivery or have other special delivery requests. Standard delivery with a single driver is to a truck-high loading dock or to your curbside if no dock is available.

* Deliveries take place during normal business hours, Monday-Friday, 9-5PM.

* We can have your local terminal contact you before delivery to set up a delivery appointment so you can arrange your own help. You must be present to sign for shipment. Driver will not deliver without a signature.

* The estimated delivery dates listed on freight websites are estimates, not guarantees. Delays can happen due to weather, driver shortages etc. These are outside the control of Modern Office.

* Customers are responsible for any re-delivery fees or storage fees incurred from missed delivery appointments or not being ready to accept the delivery.

* If you need to change the delivery address while in transit, freight companies may charge a reconsigment fee. Please contact Modern Office if you need to make this change.

Again, please notify us prior to placing your order if you need the following:

* If you must have the furniture before/after/by a certain date.

* If you need rush shipping.

* If you require inside delivery, before/after hours delivery or have other special delivery requests.

International Shipments/Hawaii/Alaska/Puerto Rico Shipments:

Please contact Modern Office for a shipping quote if located outside of the contiguous US. Prices shown online do not include applicable duties, taxes, customs brokerage, etc. for international customers. APO/FPO orders subject to acceptance and USPS weight/size limits.

Reporting Loss/Damage:

Although Modern Office makes every attempt to package our products for transit, damage during transit is never 100% preventable.

For losses/damages on UPS/FedEx shipments, please contact Modern Office at 1-800-443-5117. We will assist you from there.

With Truck Shipments, you will be required to be present and sign for your shipment. Due to this, it is important that you visually inspect the shipment for signs of damage.

* Please be sure to make a written note any visible damage or shortage on the delivery receipt before signing for a shipment. When you sign for a truck shipment, you are indicating that all cartons shown on the receipt are present and in good condition. After the driver leaves, any damage or shortages that were not reported are not the responsibility of the freight carrier any longer, since the title of the goods passes onto the customer once the shipment is signed for. There is no recourse with the freight carrier for damage that is found the next day or later.

* If your shipment arrives with severe damage, you can refuse shipment by telling the driver to send it back and writing 'REFUSED DUE TO DAMAGE” on the receipt.

* Please report any damage to Modern Office within 10 days of delivery.

Here is some helpful information on signing for a shipment.

Order Cancellations:

Orders can be canceled by contacting Customer Service BEFORE the order ships out. Please note that Modern Office ships many of our orders the same day, so cancellations may not be possible if they are not reported immediately. If you attempt to cancel an order AFTER it has shipped, it is now considered a return. See our return policy below.

Return Policy:

All non-custom items carry a 30 day return period. This means you must contact Modern Office within 30 days of delivery. Please contact us before returning your order so that we can provide a return address and return authorization number. Unauthorized returns are not accepted.

* Items must be returned in their original cartons and packaging in new / unassembled condition; the customer must carton and prepare the shipment no matter the reason for the return.

* The customer is responsible for return shipping only and must make their own arrangements for return shipment.

* The customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping for orders canceled while in transit.

* Extra services requested for the original shipment such as inside delivery, expedited or guaranteed delivery are not refundable. Returned orders of over $2000 are subject to a 25% re-stocking fee.

* Defective items and parts reported within the 30 day return period will be replaced or repaired by the manufacturer at their discretion. Since defective items are replaced/repaired, the customer may not refuse to pay return freight charges.

* Custom-made items (and items made in special colors, sizes, or configurations not offered on our site) are not returnable or cancelable. Items purchased for resale are not returnable. We reserve the right to refuse to sell to dealers and competitors. We are not responsible for compensatory damages such as assembly expenses, moving expenses, etc.

Warranties:

Warranties vary by product and are by the manufacturer. Warranties are available only to U.S. Customers and the original purchaser. Please contact Modern Office with any questions.

Other Information:

Please be assured that Modern Office does not share or sell customer information with any other companies or organizations.
