When will I be charged for my order? |
| This seems like a basic question, but it is very important. You should not be charged for an office furniture purchase until your complete order has been shipped (unless the order is particularly large or is custom-made and requires a down payment).
Many office furniture retailers immediately charge you for your purchase, but this is something you should avoid. Office furniture orders often consist of multiple items, some of which are made as orders are placed, so lead times can vary from item to item and color to color. Orders with over 20 lines of different items are not uncommon. You don't want to pay for office furniture when only part of your order has been shipped and you have to wait for the remainder. This also gives the retailer incentive to fulfill the rest of your order as soon as possible. If they have already charged you prior to shipment then you could be subject to unwanted delays. If the retailer's website or catalog is not clear about their policy of when they charge you for an order you should ask them, and get it in writing, as this is one of the most important yet overlooked aspects of your office furniture purchase.
