| What are your shipping times? | ||||||
| Most items are in stock or can ship within a few short days, so depending where in the U.S. you are located, typical delivery is within 1 to 2 weeks. Some items are made to order, so their delivery times are longer. Each item or page of related items has an estimated delivery time in the description. If you don't see the delivery estimate, or if you have a required delivery date, please give us a call at 1-800-443-5117 (952-941-2837 in Minnesota) so we can see if arrangements can be made to meet your delivery date. Delivery times are estimates, so it's very important that you let us know your required delivery date, if you have one, when the order is placed. Shipping companies deliver Monday through Friday during normal business hours. | ||||||
| What is the shipping cost? | ||||||
| Nothing! As long as you are located in the 48 contiguous states at an address accessible to UPS, FedEx, and truck semi trailers (no island deliveries, inaccessible private roads, etc.) you pay nothing for shipping. You receive the same price as our customers here in the Minneapolis area no matter where you are located in the 48 states. UPS and FedEx deliver to your office building to a predetermined delivery point, or to the front door of your home. Larger items are shipped via freight carriers; freight carriers perform tailgate delivery only. | ||||||
| How much is sales tax? | ||||||
| Sales tax is added to orders shipped to customers located within the State of Minnesota. | ||||||
| What forms of payment do you accept? | ||||||
| We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Government Purchase Cards, and PayPal. We also accept purchase orders from government, schools, and businesses with satisfactory credit ratings (purchase orders can be faxed to us at 952-949-9816 or emailed to :customersvc@modernofficefurniture.com). | ||||||
| When will you charge my credit card? | ||||||
| Your credit card will not be charged until your order has shipped, unless you request otherwise. We may verify the validity of a credit card or obtain authorization that the card is within its credit limit, but the card will not be charged until after shipment. Nearly all of our competitors charge a credit card immediately upon receiving an order. | ||||||
| Do you accept checks? | ||||||
| Yes, we do. You can mail your check to us with a copy of your order. Add your items to your shopping cart and proceed to checkout. Fill out your billing and shipping addresses, but do not proceed to finalizing and transmitting your order -- instead, print your completed order form and mail to

| All items are covered by the corresponding manufacturer's warranty. Warranties differ by manufacturer and by item, so please contact us for details. Where no warranty is provided, Modern Office covers the order with its own 1 year parts warranty. | ||||||
| What is your return policy? | ||||||
| Modern Office accepts returns within 30 days of receipt of order by the customer. The customer's only expense is to return the order. We do not charge a re-stocking fee unless the order is for over $2000 or the item is a custom style, size or color not offered in our catalog or online store. Nearly all of our competitors charge round-trip shipping on returns, plus re-stocking charges even on stock items. Please contact us before returning an item so that we can provide a return address, instructions, etc. The same terms apply to canceled orders -- there is no re-stocking charge for orders canceled before shipment unless the item is a custom item or the order is for more than $2000. Orders canceled after shipment must be returned under the above terms since it's usually not possible to intercept a shipment while in transit. | ||||||
